BDM in the spotlight asks a different BDM the same seven questions – giving you a weekly insight into the lives of some of the top BDMs in the country.
How often do you see brokers in a week?
I aim to do a minimum of 15-20 face-to-face broker meetings per week. I love being in front of brokers discussing our extensive product offerings.
What do brokers want most from you?
It's simple really and a common theme among all brokers: reliability, availability (answer/return calls and emails promptly) and support. They want help navigating through the credit process of any lender.
What is your favourite part of the job?
My favourite part of the job is building relationships with brokers and providing solutions to help their clients. It is very rewarding knowing we can provide a solution for the broker and customer where they thought a solution wasn’t available.
What distinguishes the best brokers you deal with?
They are open-minded, solution focused, realistic and willing to provide opportunities for clients that need a helping hand.
Describe your ideal weekend.
My ideal weekend would start with a few quiet drinks with mates on a Friday night, spending time with my fiance, fur-child and family on saturday/sunday with some form of sport in between whether it be playing or watching on TV.
What’s the strangest lending scenario you’ve ever encountered?
The strangest is probably a request to fund a strawberry farm.
How do you like your steak done?
Medium with either mushroom or diane sauce.
Every Wednesday we’ll feature a different BDM from across Australia. If you’d like to be included, please email the editor.
