In 1997 the internet was in its infancy and the fax machine still reigned supreme. It was also the year that Phillip Nguyen set up International Finance Group in Perth, and he has served international and migrant borrowers ever since. “If you’re the owner of the business you have to keep learning each day,” Nguyen says. He believes that, while changes in broking have been hard, they’ve removed part-time and amateur operators from the industry.
