Mortgage professionals can especially shine in one particular area of the business
With the saturation of high-quality information available to consumers, mortgage professionals need to work harder than ever to find the niches where they will thrive in.
For Pineapple CEO Shubha Dasgupta, there will always be opportunities for brokers – if they’re willing to look further than they used to.
“I think there is opportunity, but unlike the past few years where opportunity has been at the surface level, opportunity in today’s environment is available, but only for those who are willing to dig beyond the surface,” Dasgupta told Canadian Mortgage Professional.
“So we have to look beyond what we traditionally look, areas that we traditionally would have found opportunity in customers, to what’s underneath that.”
“Although we’ve seen some uncertainty in the markets, we’re very proud of where Pineapple has been in the face of that adversity,” says Pineapple President and CEO Shubha Dasgupta.https://t.co/hHujPOd9sR#mortgagenews #businessgrowth #mortgagebroker #brokernetworks

One of the areas where mortgage professionals will especially shine is providing consumers with support beyond the cut-and-dry figures of a transaction.
“Nobody’s been protected from the costs of living, rising interest rates, inflation, groceries, et cetera — so having compassion and empathy towards our customers and our partners is really an area that we can focus on,” Dasgupta said.
“Have compassion, have empathy, but stay active in connecting with Canadians today so that they’re able to guide them through what is an unprecedented market for a lot of them.”
Such person-focused support can also help soften the blow of less-than-ideal news.
“It’s easy for us to make calls and say, ‘Hey, the market is growing, prices are appreciating, you can buy real estate,’” he said. “But in today’s climate, the calls are different.”
