The company’s former CEO has transitioned into a new role as chairman of the board
Academy Mortgage has announced the appointment of James Mac Pherson as the company’s CEO. Mac Pherson has served as Academy’s president since 2016.
Mac Pherson joined Academy’s leadership team after holding management positions in compliance operations and building the company’s disclosure operations and QA audit departments. Prior to moving to the home office, Mac Pherson served in roles including regional, divisional, and producing area manager; branch manager; and loan officer in St. George, Utah.
Academy has also announced the promotion of Kristi Pickering to the role of chief operations officer. Pickering joined the company in February as senior vice president of process automation.
Former Academy CEO Adam Kessler has stepped into a new role as chairman of the company’s board of directors. Kessler has appointed Mike Jensen, who was serving as Academy’s executive vice president of marketing and corporate development, to join him on the board.
“We are intentional in our planning at Academy Mortgage to ensure our company’s sustainable growth at every level,” Mac Pherson said. “We are fortunate to have strong board members and an A+ executive leadership team at the helm to lead our company into a bright future.”
