Aggregator lauded for its capabilities and commitment
Loan Market Group (LMG), the largest aggregator across New Zealand and Australia, received recognition last week for its dedication to safeguarding advisers’ cyber activities and clients’ data.
In addition, LMG’s Luke Jarmaine (pictured above) was awarded Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of the Year at the Australian Cyber Security Awards. The award is open to CISOs from all industries in Australia.
According to the company statement, this honour highlights LMG’s leadership in creating a secure cyber environment across various industries in the Trans-Tasman region.
LMG said Jarmaine led LMG’s information security strategy with a focus on three main pillars: ensuring the safety of advisers and their clients by securing their data, fostering a cyber and privacy-aware community within LMG, and building confidence in LMG’s platforms through industry certifications.
Recently, LMG achieved the ISO27001:2022 certification and met the SOC2 Type 2 standard. LMG attributed this to the company’s focus on ensuring security and privacy with the use of platforms. It said the recognition reflects the company’s approach to integrating advanced security measures and educational programs to protect brokers and their clients.
“This recognition is a testament to LMG’s proactive approach to integrating advanced security measures and educational programs that safeguard our brokers and their clients,” Jarmaine said. “It’s been a collective effort aimed at innovation and excellence in cybersecurity.”
Baden Martin, CEO of NZ Financial Services Group (NZFSG) and Loan Market NZ, described the recognition as an endorsement of the company’s commitment to cybersecurity. “Keeping our advisers safe is a key promise that NZFSG and Loan Market works hard to deliver on,” Martin said.
“We’re so proud of Luke and the team for their dedication to safeguarding advisers’ data and operations, ensuring they can focus on what matters most: helping their clients and growing their businesses with confidence.”
In April, Laura Bennett joined LMG as a security consultant for cyber education, training, and awareness. Bennett is focused on developing a robust cyber-aware culture across NZFSG and Loan Market NZ, ensuring the network remains secure against evolving threats.
