Mortgage adviser The UK Adviser has opened its first store front, on High Street, Lees, in Oldham this week.
The 880 sq ft store was opened by franchisee Bev Watsonand will offer drop-in mortgage advice services, as well as the facility to make an appointment with its mortgage advisers.
Watson said: “I am thrilled to have opened the first-ever physical store front for The UK Adviser. Applying for a mortgage can be complicated, so we will be able to offer the people of Lees, Oldham, Saddleworth and the surrounding areas face-to-face unbiased advice and support to guide them through the process and, make it as straightforward as possible.”
“We will also offer advice nationally, by way of telephone consultation, and our aim is to give every client a personal service, whether it be face to face or over the phone.
“We strongly believe that the industry, as a whole, is lacking the attentive approach and there are still lots of people out there who want that personal touch.”
Maxim Cohen, chief executive of The UK Adviser, added: “This is a significant milestone for The UK Adviser – over the past 18 months, we have established our own brand of unbiased and friendly advice.
“We are now in a position to support our franchisees opening their very own high-street locations to offer industry-leading advice. It also offers a franchise proposition that allows ambitious individuals to set up their own mortgage business.
“We provide our franchisees with a ‘business in a box’ style framework to give them everything they need to run a successful business, including ongoing training, so it’s great to see it established as the first physical store.
“Since we launched The UK Adviser in 2018, we have supported a number of individuals in setting up their own businesses, and we’re looking forward to seeing it continue to grow.”
The UK Adviser offers advice for purchases, buy-to-let, portfolio landlords and secure loans to local homeowners, tenants and landlords.
Lisa Bird, chief operating office of The UK Adviser, said: “Although advancements in digital technology have made it easy to find information about mortgages online, there’s no substitute for a strong relationship between a trusted adviser and a client.
“We want to bring back the friendly and approachable drop-in model – which has been lost due to the current economic uncertainty – back to the British high street.
“We encourage our franchisees to do the same and consider opening store-front high street premises to push the business and our ‘personal touch’ brand of advice forward.
“We champion a individual approach to mortgage advice – nothing beats a face-to-face conversation, so we think it will be an excellent addition to the local area. We’re looking forward to supporting Bev and her team in their new high street location.”
The Lees UK Adviser store will be open from 9am – 7pm from Monday to Thursday, and 9am – 3pm on Fridays, but weekend appointments are available on request. It’s located at 97 High Street, Lees, Oldham.
