The founder of First Direct, Mike Harris has joined Dashly as chairman.
Mortgage switching tool Dashly has appointed the founding chief executive of First Direct and Prudential banking plc Mike Harris as chairman.
Harris (pictured) also co-founded the semantic web company Garlik which was acquired by Experian in 2011.
Ross Boyd, founder at Dashly, said:“Mike is one of the most respected names in financial services and his understanding of the way the mortgage industry is being changed by technology is second to none.
“He immediately got what Dashly is all about and to have him onboard as chairman is a massive boost to everyone involved.
“We plan to change the way mortgages are created, marketed and, crucially, advised on, and as our technology is rolled out to the UK broker community in 2020 there’s no doubt that Mike will give us vital guidance and direction.”
Harris added: “Dashly ticked all the boxes for me.
“As well as a business model that works and a charismatic team, it has smart angel investors who know the mortgage industry inside out that are on hand to provide all-important support and advice.
“What especially drew me to Dashly is the way it makes the mortgage industry work better forallparticipants in it, customers, brokers and lenders alike.
“Ross and the team have an inclusive, progressive and highly disruptive vision that I look forward to helping realise.”
Dashly is running its broker-only pilot exclusively through Paradigm Mortgage Services until the New Year, before making itself available to the wider broker community in January 2020.
