The aim of the second 'Viewpoint' guide, sponsored by Prudential, is to help take advisers through all the issues they should be considering before they decide whether or not to become involved in advising their clients on equity release.
Chris Cummings, director general of AIFA, said: "This publication is part of programme of AIFA activities focussed on equity release. It is a step-by-step guide to the main issues which need to be addressed by those considering offering advice in this area and guidelines for those who are already operating in it. Equity release is complex and we aim to help members to conduct their business in a sensitive and compliant manner.
“To support the guide we have also created a web page for AIFA members where they can easily source information from other organisations.On this micro-site we can continue to keep our members updated about any new developments on equity release.”
