As well as seminars on buy-to-let, commercial, protection insurance and Home Information Packs, the Financial Services Authority’s (FSA) recently appointed head of mortgages and credit unions, Mandy Spink, will outline the regulator’s plan for the next 12 months.
Daniel Nwaokolo, Mortgage Business Expo Manchester show manager, commented: “Mortgage Business Expo Manchester is aimed squarely at the important community of intermediaries based in the North, as well as providing plenty to offer brokers from all over the country. This year’s show covers the full range of mortgage sectors, but has a particular emphasis on specialist markets including non-conforming, buy-to-let and self-certification.”
The show, which will take place at Manchester Central (G-MEX) on 16-17 May, will also showcase seminars on developments in technology and the overseas market.

Rob Griffiths, associate director of AMI, said: “We are particularly pleased to announce that Mandy Spink will be outlining the regulator’s priorities for the year ahead, while also focusing on the compliance issues small firms are facing. We hope mortgage intermediaries take the time to attend what is sure to be a particularly informative and rewarding two days.”
Mike Fitzgerald, sales director at Brentchase Financial Services, commented: “The good thing about these AMI seminars is that they have no hidden agenda except to help intermediaries. What the FSA should be doing is to make the process easier because if you took away the broker market, the high street wouldn’t be able to cope.”
