AMI urges mortgage advisers to participate in annual survey

AMI urges mortgage advisers to participate in annual survey

The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) is encouraging all mortgage advisers to participate in its annual Protection Viewpoint survey, which is now open for responses.

The survey, which will close on August 21, aims to gather insights from advisers on a range of topics, including their approaches to protection, the tools they use, the impact of Consumer Duty, and the service levels provided by insurers.

AMI said key reasons for advisers to participate include the survey’s brief time commitment — it takes just five minutes to complete — and the fact that responses are anonymous.

Participation is open to all advisers, regardless of AMI membership status. The findings will be used to inform this year’s Protection Viewpoint Report, helping to identify opportunities, barriers, and challenges from the perspective of mortgage intermediaries.

AMI, in partnership with sponsors Legal & General and Royal London, will present the survey’s key findings at a launch event on November 5.

Last year’s Protection Viewpoint survey highlighted adviser firms’ lack of a protection section on their website.

“The AMI Protection Viewpoint Report has established itself as the most far-reaching insight into the protection market, showing just how brokers and the public interact with the industry,” said Andrew Montlake (pictured), chairman of the AMI Board. “In previous years, it has highlighted a whole range of trends, challenges, and food for thought that have directly influenced the processes and decision making of many firms within the industry.

“Protection remains one of the most important areas of growth, especially in a post-Consumer Duty world, and broker insight has proved invaluable to ensuring that the sector remains relevant and continues to move forward and adapt to the needs of consumers. We hope to hear from as many different voices as possible and your views really do make a difference.”
