Bank of England delays mortgage and credit data publication

The Bank of England (BoE) has announced that it is deferring the publication of its monthly bank and building society lending data by a day until September 30.

The delay is primarily due to a public holiday marking Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral on September 19, and the BoE said it was making the change to give lenders an extra day to submit data.

“The reporting schedule for firm submission of statistical data will be delayed by one day for the period of September 19 to 30,” the bank stated. “Statistical data submissions during this period may be reported a day later to account for the bank holiday. As a result, the Bankstats publication will now take place on September 30.”

The BoE earlier announced that it is delaying its base rate decision, moving it by a week to September 22.

The bank clarified that there will be no further impact on reporting schedules from October onwards.
