British Friendly said that the changes to the Avelo Exchange Portal means IFAs could now automatically compare premiums for full IP products against those with a limited claim period.
The short-term IP plan pays out on either one, two or five years.
Mark Myers, chief executive officer at British Friendly, said: “The Avelo Exchange Portal is used by over 20,000 financial advisers across the UK, so it is great news that advisers using it can now access a wider range of income protection products with a limited claim period.”
Dave Miller, head of provider relationships at Avelo, said: “Having added the British Friendly income protection plan to the Avelo Exchange Portal last year, this was a logical next step.
“The income protection market is growing rapidly so it is pleasing to be able to increase our offering to advisers up and down the country.”
