According to the general insurance provider, which surveyed over 4,000 intermediaries, nearly all were confident (97%) while over a third (37%) added that they were extremely confident.
Bruce Reid, distribution director at Select & Protect, said: “With over half the brokers surveyed telling us that they were arranging more mortgages this year and 60% saying that they often sell second or third mortgages, perhaps it’s not surprising to learn that most are feeling confident about the future of their business.
“Despite having to cope with extensive new regulation in the midst of an increasingly buoyant marketplace, it appears that intermediaries have risen to the challenge as they always do.”
The majority (79%) of intermediaries said general insurance sales are vital to increase income yet 61% added that price comparison websites have made selling products harder.
When asked which general insurance products they currently offer the top three were buildings and contents (96%), income protection (77%) and landlord insurance (76%).
