Adrian Knott is supporting South Torbay & South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.
London and Torquay-based mortgage broker Adrian Knott is donating the last week’s summer profits from his Airbnb listed Devon holiday villa to South Torbay & South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.
The 170 year-old Grade-2 listed villa comes with sea views as well as an outside pool and is rented out for short-term holiday makers through the online platform.
Knott said: “It’s a small something but I’ve been impressed by the hard work that NHS staff have put in towards fighting the pandemic and supporting sufferers of coronavirus.
"This hit home hard when a friend recently recovered from the virus having near death experience in March.
“Lots of families have been spent isolating or shielding because of COVID-19 have not been able have a holiday and I feel lucky to lucky to have a nice house by sea to rent out.
“I have lots of bookings this summer for my business following Boris Johnson’s announcement that people can travel on holiday now and so with only one week left now available on 24 July I felt I wanted to give something back so will donate the profits from this booking back to a charity that has support families of COVID-19 sufferers.
“My children were both born at Torbay Hospital to so that was the natural choice to support a that great local hospital.”
It’s not the first time Knott raised money for charity having previously raised £2,537 running the London marathon in 2015 and £1,100 in 2017 with a charity fund raising golf day, both for Maggies Centres a cancer support charity relatives of cancer sufferers.
In 2016 he also did a skydive with five other friends from 3,500 feet where they raised a total of £3,660.
