Payne joins BuildStore after a highly successful financial services career, with managing director roles at Assurant Intermediary, BM Solutions and The Mortgage Business. Previous to this, Nigel held a number of roles in corporate finance, savings and secured lending with the Halifax. He is also company chairman of Mortgage Introducer Ltd.
His new role with BuildLoan will see him take responsibility for the intermediary sales channel, which has been steadily growing over the last few years, as more lenders look to invest in the self-build lending market.
As well as overseeing sales and marketing activity, Payne will ensure that brokers have access to the best funding solutions and fully benefit from BuildLoan’s experience and expertise in the self build sector, by introducing new ways to support brokers and their clients.
Payne said: “This is an exciting time to be joining BuildLoan. The broker market is reinvigorated after a harsh couple of years and is attracting new lenders and products. Self-build is a substantial and growing market in the UK with enormous potential for further growth, and I am confident that BuildLoan will play a significant role in realising that growth.
“BuildLoan occupies an enviable position as the leading supplier and source of expertise in the market, having built an outstanding proposition over the last 15 years. The company is totally committed to becoming the clear choice for intermediary distributors who are looking to serve the financial needs of those looking to build their own property.”
Raymond Connor, BuildStore’s chief executive, added:: “Nigel will be a key member of our financial services team and his role is important in driving our broker proposition forward. Nigel has a tremendous level of experience and comes with a first-class track record in financial services. I am sure he will play a major part in helping BuildLoan retain its position as the number one intermediary choice for self build finance.”
