Currently the assistant general manager at Salans’ Bromley office, Burgess has worked at Salans for 14 years and has enjoyed a variety of roles including heading up Bromley’s mortgage services operation and business development.
He was also a key member of the implementation team responsible for the development of Bromley’s new case management and linked account systems and has advised the firm in areas of emerging strategic importance such as e-conveyancing.
Burgess said: “I am very excited about the opening of our new office in Thetford. I’m looking forward to the many challenges ahead in creating an office with the same volume processing capability and levels of customer service consistently provided by our parent satellite office in Bromley.
“Salans is an international law firm and is keen to expand in parts of the UK. The new office can hold up to 50 people comfortably and we have begun a recruitment campaign to ensure that we have the right people in place to spearhead our new venture.”
Caroline Havers, partner at Salans, said: “Nigel has proved to be a great asset to Salans in the various roles he has held in our Bromley office. We are confident that he will take his business acumen and energy to Thetford to spearhead our new venture.
"The Thetford office will operate on a similar basis to the Bromley office and initially offer volume legal processing to institutional clients and residential conveyancing. We will also be developing a host of other activities.”
