Castle Trust awarded Plain English standard

As part of the Plain English Campaign to remove confusing technical terms from documents, the Crystal Mark standard ensures that all information is as clear as possible and uses everyday English. Castle Trust’s brochures have been written in an easy-to-understand manner and as a result have all received Crystal Marks - the seal of approval from the Plain English Campaign.

Mikkel Bates, head of marketing, Castle Trust, said: “Financial services companies have a very poor reputation for the clarity of their documents and they frequently lapse into confusing jargon. It’s very important for us that consumers fully understand our new products and so we were keen to make sure that all our brochures satisfy the criteria for Plain English Crystal Marks.”

Chrissie Maher OBE, founder of Plain English Campaign, said: "The language of financial services is one of the most complicated to understand. It's great that a new company like Castle Trust is putting the needs of their customers first by achieving the high standards of the Crystal Mark. It is common sense for both businesses and customers to invest in plain language that can be easily understood in order to avoid any uncertainty and subsequent misunderstandings. The Crystal Mark is a testament of Castle Trust’s brochures’ clarity.”
