Following the announcement of a crackdown on identity fraud, CIFAS has launched its first Identity Fraud training programme for front-line staff.
The training on offer to staff working within the financial services and utility Member companies of CIFAS is designed to build upon the publication of ‘Identity Fraud - The UK Manual’ which was launched earlier this week. The manual is a joint venture between CIFAS, the Finance & Leasing Association and APACS, and has been designed to become the main reference tool for organisations handling personal identification documents.
Designed to coincide with the launch of the manual, the CIFAS training course provides guidance on the Manual and how to get best value from its use. This training is available to all staff from any organisation and is open to fraud investigators, as well as front line counter, retail and processing staff. It is another part of the armoury for organisations fighting the rising tide of identity fraud, and is expected to help financial institutions identify even more identity fraud attempts, over and above the 75% they currently detect.
