Co-op Insurance supports extension of ABI pledge

Members of the Association of British Insurers (ABI) have once again extended their pledge to support consumers affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

Co-op Insurance has voiced its support for the pledge, which has been extended until 31 December 2020.

Charles Offord, managing director of Co-op Insurance, said: “The spread of coronavirus is unprecedented in modern times and we understand this is an incredibly difficult time for families.

"We’re co-operating with the Association of British Insurers (ABI) to support those who are affected by the impact of COVID-19, as well as those who want to help their communities in these challenging times.”

Laura Hughes, manager, general insurance at the ABI, said: “The extension of these temporary pledges underlines the commitment of insurers to helping customers through these continued challenging times.

"From pledges of extra support, paying over £1.8bn in COVID-related claims, and donating through the COVID-19 Support Fund over £100m to help the most vulnerable, insurers continue to do all they can to help their customers and wider society during the crisis."
