The company, which brokered secured and unsecured loans worth more than £250 million last year, has completed a major restructuring and made a number of high profile senior level appointments in preparation for a major marketing push during 2003.
Colin Snowdon, the mastermind behind the launch and development of both The Mortgage Business and Verso, also joins Rupert Webb, founder and group managing director, Tony Machin and Mark Chadwick on the Freedom Finance main board.
Snowdon says: “The opportunity to join an entrepreneurial business with ambitious plans for growth in the UK mortgage market, was too good to miss. Freedom’s track record is impressive and it’s exciting to be part of a team which intends to enhance significantly its presence both in the UK and across Europe during the next few years.”
Snowdon takes up his new post on January 1st with responsibility for the company’s existing mortgage and intermediary operation. Freedom receives applications for mortgages and secured personal loans from the public, via intermediaries and from several high street banks and building societies. Part of Snowdon's brief is to quickly develop a strategy to enable the business to play a more fundamental role in the UK mortgage market in the future.
