Designed to improve the speed of submissions, the checklist includes an application summary which lists all of the documentation required, cross-referenced to the product on the application.
The checklist details all of the information required, including application form, income, valuation and property details as well as underwriting information and documents.
Announcing the launch, Stephen Johnson, sales and marketing director at commercial First, said: “Speed of service is an extremely important element of what our brokers expect from us. It can be all too easy to miss out a vital document from the packaged case, which may result in delays in the application being processed and consequently a less-than-satisfied customer. Our new submission checklist has been designed to help all of our brokers that submit packaged cases to get it right first time, every time. We hope there will be a wide take up of the checklist.”
Peter O’Donovan, mortgage manager at Bestinvest, said: “This is an excellent idea. I don’t think commercial is as hard as people think, but a lot of advisers are still slightly scared by it. A checklist, so items can be ticked off, is useful as everyone in the process can see what they have to do and what has been done, which will help improve confidence.”
