The guides follow on from a recent online seminar and a selling techniques video for advisers, both of which met with success.
The guides demonstrate how the use of Twitter and other social media can be beneficial to advisers, by opening them up to a new audience in a fresh and innovative way. It is hoped that the guides generate new business opportunities for IFAs as well as enabling them to keep in touch with existing clients.
The guides show advisers how tweets of no more than 140 characters can be used to drive new traffic to websites or interact with new and existing clients. It also explores how building a Facebook community can help build rapport with customers, especially younger ones, in a new and engaging way.
Jamie McIver, director of protection sales for Friends Life, said: "In an era when social media is at everyone's fingertips, now is the perfect time for us to explore the best ways that IFAs can benefit from engaging with it. We are excited about these guides and hope that they will offer valuable advice to those wishing to branch out into the world of social media and take advantage of the new business opportunities that it can offer."
