The series of seminar presentations has been put together in conjunction with the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries and has been designed to cover a large number of mortgage issues including regulation, market development, the post-Election landscape, and product opportunities.
FSE Manchester will be held once again at The Emirates – Old Trafford in Manchester on Wednesday 20th May and will provide visitors with access to over 40 exhibitors including lenders, distributors, networks, insurance providers, technology companies, and many more.
Keith Hale, technical mortgage specialist for the FCA, will be providing the regulator’s view on how the MCOB rules have been amended in order to implement the European Mortgage Credit Directive. He will also be providing an update regarding the current live issues on which the FCA is being asked to interpret.
Other seminars on the day include:
• An in-depth analysis on the current state of the economy, housing and mortgage markets from AMI’s Robert Sinclair, looking at what it will mean for advisers and lenders in the coming months.
• A look at the opportunities within the protection market from marketing and protection expert, Roger Edwards.
• A session on the equity release market – its growth and development – from the Equity Release Council’s Les Pick.
• Finally, a panel session featuring Charles Haresnape of Aldermore, Alan Cleary of Precise Mortgages, Ian Andrew of Nationwide, Martin Reynolds of Simplybiz, and Rob Jupp of Brightstar Financial. The experts assembled will be offering their views on the MMR one year on, the MCD, mortgage market size, pricing, procuration fees, business quality, technology as well as how the market might develop in 2015 and beyond.
As well as the main seminar theatre, Shawbrook Bank will be running its own Academy at FSE Manchester, hosting a number of specialist lending seminars from a variety of industry experts.
James Prosser, director of Front Events, organisers of FSE Manchester, said: “Working with AMI on the content of the seminar programme allows us to cover off a wide range of topics and issues which are currently ‘live’ with the advisory community.
“Once again we are particularly pleased to have a key-note address delivered by the FCA and, just over a year after the MMR was introduced, it will be interesting to see the Review landed, plus how the next set of regulatory changes is shaping up with the MCD being the catalyst.
“As well as the FCA we have a number of industry experts providing their analysis of the mortgage and housing markets, the outlook for intermediary distribution, as well as focusing on product opportunities especially within the protection and equity release spaces.
“On top of our main seminar theatre we have the specialist lending seminars offered by Shawbrook Bank as well as our wide range of exhibitors active across many different areas.
“FSE Manchester promises once again to be the must-attend event in the North of England for advisers.
“With the quality of both our seminar and exhibitor offering, we believe a visit to FSE on the 20th May will provide not only plenty of food for thought but also a wealth of support, information and guidance which will help advisers develop their propositions for the rest of the year and beyond.”
