Tool now available to UK expats and international residents
Gatehouse Bank has expanded its online decision in principle (DIP) service to include UK expats and international residents, alongside UK-based customers.
The enhancement allows eligible Home Purchase Plan (HPP) and buy-to-let customers to obtain a DIP independently in around 10 minutes. The service operates 24/7, enabling users to secure a DIP at their convenience without speaking to a direct adviser.
The online facility also accommodates buy-to-let customers seeking financing for houses in multiple occupation (HMOs), multi-unit freehold blocks (MUFBs), or properties held under a limited company structure.
Once a DIP is obtained, customers are prompted to upload supporting documents through a secure platform. Gatehouse Bank’s direct adviser team then reviews the documents before proceeding to the application stage.
The announcement follows the bank’s recent resumption of refinancing options on buy-to-let and HPP products for UK residents, expatriates, and international residents. Gatehouse also reintroduced top slicing for UK expatriates and international residents purchasing buy-to-let properties.
“We are pleased to announce these enhancements to our decision in principle facility, which have been designed to offer greater convenience and flexibility for our customers,” said Gemma Donnelly (pictured), head of customer propositions at Gatehouse Bank.
“Being able to independently obtain a decision in principle at a time that is convenient for them will substantially improve the customer journey, especially in instances where time difference is a factor.”
