Half of UK homeowners are not confident that they could obtain a mortgage today, according to a study by Masthaven entitled ‘Game of Loans’.
The study comprised of two surveys of over 2,000 adults and also found that most people (81%) believe lenders should make more of an effort to understand homebuyers’ individual circumstances.
Matt Andrews, managing director of mortgages at Masthaven, said: “Given the forthcoming remortgage surge – a whopping £35bn – I’m concerned to hear so many homeowners are not confident they could get a mortgage.”
