Homelyfe – a company allowing customers to find and buy insurance in under four minutes – has launched a home and contents offering.
The company, which allows consumers to use an app, had already launched a homebuyer’s insurance offering.
Peter Goodman, chief executive and co-founder of Homelyfe, said: “While other industries - such as retail banking - have completely transformed in recent years, the insurance industry is only just starting to catch up.”
Homelyfe has found that 61% of consumers go to price comparison websites when buying home insurance, compared to just 18% going to insurers direct.
This, it argued, encourages insurers to drive down prices – and therefore the quality of the products available.
