Charcol’s face-to-face independent advisory business is to be rebranded John Charcol.
The rebrand will appear across the branch network and on marketing material next month and aims to emphasis the significance of the return of the company’s founding management team, John Garfield and Charles Wishart, who rejoined Charcol last year when the company was sold by Bradford & Bingley.
Rooftop Mortgages targets the North
Non-conforming lender Rooftop Mortgages, sponsor of Mortgage Business Expo Manchester on 18 and 19 May, is currently planning to extend its reach to the North of England and Scotland.
The company expects the push for mortgage business outside of London and the South East will help widen its market share.
MX increases lifetime loan size
Mortgage Express has increased its maximum Lifetime mortgage loan size from £250,000 to £500,000.
Since entering the lifetime mortgage market 18 months ago, Mortgage Express has seen strong growth in this area, capturing 20 per cent of the overall market and 30 per cent of the intermediary market.
NAB appoints broker relationship manager
The National Australia Bank Group (NAB) has continued its expansion into the UK mortgage intermediary market with the appointment of Mike Rowell as intermediary relationship manager.
Mike, who commences in his new role later this month, will be responsible for growing partnerships with brokers in the North East of England.

Self-build and renovations specialists BuildStore has appointed Willie Donald as managing director of its financial services division.
The financial services arm of the business is undergoing a revamp and has a new working title of BuildStore Finance. Donald joins BuildStore following a career spanning 27 years in financial services.
Genesis to use Exchange for portal
The Exchange, the supplier of portal services to IFAs, has announced that Genesis Home Loans has selected the Exweb Broker portal to support its new arrangements for the sale of protection products.
Exweb Broker will help Genesis manage its relationships with providers and enable its members to submit new business applications electronically for a range of protection products.
IF to launch six offsets
Intelligent Finance (IF) is launching a new range of offset mortgages at a time when research reveals that awareness of offset has doubled in just two years.
From 24 April, Intelligent Finance will be offering six offset mortgages including two-year tracker products, a tracker for the term of the mortgage and an improved discounted offset.
