The Blemain Group Awards are the first of their kind to be organised and hosted by a lender in the short-term finance industry.
Mortgage Introducer topped an envious shortlist which included rivals such as Mortgage Strategy, Money Marketing, Financial Adviser and Mortgage Finance Gazette. No other titles made the shortlist.
So far the only awards in the bridging and commercial sector have been arranged by various media organisations and do not recognize the quality and value of either the trade or consumer press.
Mortgage Introducer editor Sarah Davidson and reporter Yuan Phoon accepted the award on behalf of the whole Mortgage Introducer team.
Specialist lender Blemain said: "The specialist lending industry has grown with quality media publications reporting on news and writing insightful articles on different aspects of the industry.
"These publications play a vital role in keeping us informed of key events that allow us to grow and share our knowledge of the marketplace."
Sarah Davidson was thrilled to have won so many brokers' votes.
She said: "There was some amazing competition in this sector so we're especially pleased to have been recognised at the Blemain Group Awards.
"With more attention being given to specialist lending and bridging and commercial it's gratifying to know we're ahead of the game in this sector for news and analysis – and maybe the occasional bit of gossip too.”
Brightstar director Kit Thompson, who attended the plush bash, added: "Mortgage Introducer is hands down the best title in the industry for specialist news. They definitely deserve it!"
PMS executive chairman John Malone said: "The Blemain Group has been committed to working with brokers, mortgage clubs, mortgage networks, packagers and trade media; while lending consistently for almost 40 years. It has a different insight in to the specialist lending industry and is well placed to help recognise the industry's talent."
Robyn Hall, Mortgage Introducer publisher, said: “Congratulations to all of the Blemain Group Awards’ winners and a special thank you to everyone who voted for Mortgage Introducer – now undoubtedly delivering the best coverage of bridging and commercial news and analysis in the intermediary market through the best independent editorial team.
“One thing we’re not is big and sluggish and the recent launch of Bridging Introducer – the first dedicated print magazine to the bridging and short-term finance sector – goes to show our ongoing commitment and dedication to what is a thriving industry.”
