Nationwide launches Members' Zone

The portal, accessible from either the homepage of www.nationwide.co.uk or via www.nationwide-members.co.uk is a one-stop-shop for information about forthcoming member events, industry news and what it means to be part of the Nationwide Group. Site users can also listen to podcasts and watch videos about the issues members have told the Society are important to them.

Maxine Taylor, corporate affairs director at Nationwide, says: "By launching the Members' Zone, we will be able to communicate more regularly and directly with our members at a time when they need us most. There has been much change within the financial services industry over the past two years, so we felt it important to launch a dedicated site for members that will provide all of our customers with the information they need about their Society as well as the external environment.

"For the first time, members will be able to tune into podcasts delivered by Society directors about topical issues or view video footage of key corporate announcements. Members can also book places at forthcoming TalkBack events that we hold across the UK, or read transcripts of online TalkBack sessions held between members and the Society's directors. There are many benefits of being a part of the world's largest building society and I am sure members will see these when they log onto the site."

Within the Members' Zone, customers can also access information about the Society's forthcoming AGM - which will be, for many members, their first with Nationwide. For each vote cast at this year's AGM, Nationwide Building Society will donate 20 pence to its flagship charity, Macmillan Cancer Support until reaching a target of £250,000. Nationwide has supported Macmillan Cancer Support for over 15 years and has raised more than £5 million for people living with cancer. Visitors to the Members' Zone, can watch a video about the Society's partnership with Macmillan that explains how past donations have made a difference to those living with cancer. On the site, members can also learn about the Society's other charitable commitments with Citizens Advice, Shelter and Disability Sport Events as well as its education programme, Nationwide Education.
