The society provides income protection for professionals and their staff.
Chief executive Mike Perry said: “People are losing trust in for-profits providers like banks and commercial insurers to take care of their interests as consumers. In addition to this, people have long since been aware that state benefits are completely inadequate to support a reasonable standard of living.
"The recession has heightened people’s concerns that they can’t rely on their employer either, if they are off work sick for more than a few days.
“Professionals put in many years of hard work to develop their careers and to provide for their families. These results demonstrate that a mutual friendly society set up specifically to look after their needs is the answer they are looking for.”
