The competition is open to anyone who takes out a mortgage in person at any one of the society’s 110 branches across the UK. Mortgage applicants simply need to complete an application form to enter the competition and answer a simple question – In which town is Portman Building Society’s head office? As long as the mortgage completes by 31 October 2003, it will be entered.
Group marketing director, Andrew McQueen said: "This is the first competition of its kind for Portman. Now one lucky person, will have the added benefit of zero repayments for a full year. If the winner arranges their insurances with us, we’ll pay that as well, up to the value of £12,000.
