He joins from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia European Division where he was responsible for setting up their mortgage call and processing centre.
Scholes replaces Andrew Preston, who has moved on to become director of UK distribution for Scottish Life. Preston said: "I am delighted to welcome Steve to Scottish Life Mortgages. He brings extensive experience of the mortgage, life and pension market, which will be invaluable for developing Scottish Life Mortgages in the introduced mortgage market."
Scottish Life Mortgages’ panel includes Bank of Ireland, Bristol & West, Bank of Scotland, Birmingham Midshires, Leeds & Holbeck and Royal Bank of Scotland.
