As part of the change in status Mortgages Direct will re-brand to Spicerhaart Financial Services and will continue to provide mortgage, protection and general insurance advice and products across the group’s agency network and also from its customer contact centre based in Colchester.
Spicerhaart Financial Services currently has 65 advisers and expects to increase that to 90 by the end of 2009 with plans to grow further next year.
This latest move follows the recent announcement that Sesame has successfully completed the acquisition of Bankhall and PMS, creating the UK’s largest appointed representative (AR) network and directly regulated services business. The combined operations of the new Sesame Bankhall Group generated over £45 billion in mortgage applications in 2008 and represents over 25 per cent of intermediary-introduced mortgage business.
