Stonebridge Group, the mortgage and insurance network, raised over £15k for two cancer charities, Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research UK, during 2015.
Macmillan Cancer Support, the chosen charity for Stonebridge Group in 2015, received £12,590 from the network at the end of the year. This money was raised via a combination of charity drives during the course of the year including donations made at last year’s Stonebridge annual conference, and staff donations as a result of office ‘dress down days’.
Stonebridge Group doubled all such donations taking the figure well into double figures.
Cancer Research UK also received £3,800 from the network as a result of a number of Stonebridge employees taking part in a ‘Mud Run’ for the charity (pictured). Again, Stonebridge doubled all donations received by those taking part.
In 2016 Stonebridge Group has once again decided that Macmillan Cancer Support will be its chosen charity.
All donations received throughout the year will be doubled by the business and the first large charity drive will take place next month on Monday 1st February at the 2016 Stonebridge Group Annual Conference which takes place in Nottingham at the East Midlands Conference Centre.
Richard Adams, managing director of Stonebridge Group, said: “We have always believed that supporting charities via the endeavours of our staff and members was an important part of our responsibilities as a financial services business.
“Very few people are untouched by cancer and the work that Macmillan Cancer Support does with those who have cancer, and their families, makes a real difference to all concerned.
“We are delighted to have raised over £12k during 2015 for them, plus the extra money for Cancer Research UK as a result of those members of staff who took part in the ‘Mud Run’.
“Our Annual Conference is always a special day and we are hoping that everyone who attends will be able to dig deep in order to get our charity drive this year off to a great start. Once again we will be supporting Macmillan, doubling all donations and we hope to be announcing even greater sums for them in 12 months’ time.”
