Melanie has been recruited to spearhead the growth in sales of current account and flexible mortgages in the intermediary market for RBS Intermediary Partners. She will manage a team of field and phone-based business development managers who will cover the UK. Melanie previously worked for TietoEnator, an IT services company, where she managed accounts in the banking and insurance sector including clients such as Mortgages Plc, Toyota Financial Services and BMW Financial Services.
Chris Pearson, director of intermediary mortgages at Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “I am delighted that someone of Melanie’s calibre has joined our team. She has a great track record in sales and has built up a considerable amount of experience in previous roles, including two years as a mortgage adviser. Melanie will lead the newly created team that will focus solely on the benefits of current account and flexible mortgages marketed under The One account brand. I believe she will bring the necessary drive and clear thinking to help us work with our intermediary partners in the development of The One account’s proposition.”
Whilst sales for The One account will be managed by a separate sales team, business processing will continue to progressed by the RBS Intermediary Partners team who also process applications for the other three RBS Intermediary Partners’ brands – First Active, RBS and NatWest.
Earlier this month, it was announced that David Gillam and Alastair McDonald would be joining the RBS Intermediary Partners corporate accounts team from IF, reporting to Graham Felstead who is head of corporate accounts.
