Last week Mortgage Introducer revealed how Trigold had come under fire from brokers who were experiencing problems getting on to the Trigold system and accused the sourcing system of regularly crashing when they tried to check products.
Now the sourcing system has been criticised for still carrying references to the MCCB, which ceased in its role as the voluntary regulator of mortgages on 31 October.
Kevin Morgan, managing director of Consilium Financial Planning, said: “The whole thing is a cock-up. You’d think they could at least get this simple thing right.”
John Mawdsley, director of packager The Mortgage Partnership, commented: “When you go into the Trigold system to browse products it still refers to the MCCB. The user settings still ask for MCCB registration numbers and the Terms of Business document also contains several references to the former regulator.
“This is all high level stuff that seems quite obvious you should get right. But it should be easy for Trigold to fix.”
Robin Gordon-Walker, spokesman at the FSA, said: “We don’t regulate the sourcing systems. It’s really what the industry wants that dictates whether a sourcing system works.
“If a sourcing provider is not working properly, that is a huge problem for the industry. But it is up to brokers and lenders to make sure the information handed to clients from the sourcing systems is correct.”
Bill Safran, joint managing director of Trigold, said: “These brokers just haven’t done enough updates. When they’ve done more updates, they shouldn’t see any more references to the MCCB.”
