Webline has also been cited as the adviser portal with ‘the fastest e-business take-up’ following the launch of further electronic new business services on the platform.
Steve Young, e-commerce manager of Friends Provident:
“We launched four new e-submission products on Webline in May this year. Within just three weeks of going live, we received more applications than with any other independent service in its launch period, even receiving the first e-application within half an hour of the service going live". This is the most rapid uptake of a new business service we have ever seen on a portal and we are delighted with the results to date”.
In the first half of 2004 more than 1,000 new users signed up to the Webline platform, giving a total of over 11,000 users, 7,300 firms and 27 networks now active registered users.
Paul Holland, managing director of Webline, explains: “At the beginning of this year we set ourselves ambitious targets for the growth of our service, particularly for online quotes and e-submission volumes. In particular, we have been working closely with our network users to help them stimulate greater use of online quotes and e-submission using the benefits of our specialist network administration system. As our results show, this is already paying huge dividends. It is extremely encouraging to see the growing use of e-business in the adviser community and we will continue to develop complementary services for all our users to ensure they are given maximum support.”
16 product providers are already live on the Webline platform, which provides online quotes for 13 term assurance and critical illness providers, 7 investment bond providers, 4 income protection providers and a specialist medical insurer. In recent months Webline’s e-submission volumes have been growing at over 100% month on month.
