The extension of the awards in the consumer title recognises the work undertaken by mortgage advisers in helping customers find the best deals to match their specific needs and requirements.
Nominations for the Mortgage Adviser of the Year categories have come from lenders voting through Mortgage Introducer. The finalists in each category of best regional, best national, best buy-to-let, best specialist mortgage broker (including non-conforming, self-cert, self-build and flexible), best equity release, best online and best overall mortgage broker have been posted on the What Mortgage website, www.whatmortgage.co.uk, and will be further voted for by consumers.
They include John Charcol, London & Country, Hamptons, Savills and Moneyquest. Regional finalists include representatives from London (Alexander Hall), Leicester (Oakwood Financial Management) and Southend (The OFM Group Ltd).
Victoria Hartley, editor of What Mortgage, said: “We think extending these prestigious awards simply helps to enhance mortgage advisers’ value to the consumers. We know our readers, and many other people looking for a mortgage product, have always relied on the independence and clear value shown by advisers.
“But now through our adviser categories we are providing mortgage borrowers with the opportunity to see which mortgage advisers have been hailed for gold standard service and professionalism, and all through the highest accolade possible – customer recommendation.”
Rob Griffiths, editor of Mortgage Introducer, said: “The competition for MI’s Broker Awards has been fierce and we are looking forward to announcing the winners at our awards ceremony on 23 November at The Savoy in London.”
Final results for all What Mortgage categories will be released in early January and a formal presentation of the awards themselves will take place on 16 March 2006.
