VA Loan Captain and the NAR have partnered to roll out an online platform to help realtors navigate the VA loan process
VA Loan Captain and the National Association of Realtors have partnered to announce the Patriot Program, a platform designed to help realtors reach veteran home buyers and sellers.
Grant Moon, CEO of VA Loan Captain, used his VA home loan benefit after returning home from Iraq in 2008. After closing, however, Moon realized he had overpaid for his VA loan. That is, unfortunately, a relatively common problem; many veterans and servicemembers are taken advantage of by predatory lenders, according to a VA Loan Captain news release. And in 2015, the Department of Justice determined that five of the nation’s largest banks had illegally foreclosed on servicemembers.
Moon founded VA Loan Captain to educate military members about their VA benefits and prevent irresponsible lenders from exploiting veterans.
“All of our affiliate lenders are VA approved, and waive their loan origination fees for veterans,” Moon said.
The Patriot Program furthers the company’s goal of demystifying the VA loan process by providing a customizable online toolkit for realtors.
“Understanding the VA loan process is crucial when helping build military servicemembers and veterans,” said Nick Sharma, director of product. “Having a platform that supports the education of realtors and consumers is important. Military members and veterans deserve exceptional service, and with this product, that service can be provided.”
