The foundation, created and driven by employees of a leading VA lender, donated the money to help fund the expansion and renovation of a Boys and Girls Club facility
The Veterans United Foundation, a nonprofit organization created and driven by Veterans United Home Loans, has donated $100,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbia, Mo. Based in Columbia, Veterans United is a leading VA lender.
The foundation’s gift will help fund the Boys and Girls’ Clubs’ $2.5 million capital campaign to renovate and expand its main site in Columbia. The BCG plans to build a 14,000-square-foot expansion, more than doubling the size of the current facility.
“Boys and Girls Club of Columbia is an integral partner within the community for reaching at-risk youth,” sahd Greg Steinhoff, executive director of Veterans United Foundation. “We are pleased to support this campaign and encourage the local business community to do the same.”
Launched in 2011, Veterans United Foundation is built on employee contributions that are matched dollar-for-dollar by Veterans United Home Loans. The foundation recently made a donation of $1.5 million to Welcome Home, Inc., for the construction of an emergency homeless shelter for veterans in Columbia, according to a news release.
