Peter O’Neill

Peter O’Neill, Bridgewater Bank’s COO, was a key member of the original leadership team that acquired the bank’s Schedule I charter. With Bridgewater Bank since 2004, he has been responsible for the overall strategic direction that has led to many awards, including most recently, the CMP Best Mortgage Employer 2021 (101-500 employees). Being one of the original pioneers, O’Neill established the bank as a nimble lending house for mortgage brokers—a business model that continues to thrive today.

O’Neill has more than 42 years of banking experience, with senior roles at RBC and ATB Financial. He is a long-time active participant within the Canadian Bankers Association, currently a member of the Executive Council and the National Housing Forum. He is also Co-Chair of the Domestic Bank Executive Committee.

O’Neill is a Fellow (Honours) of the Institute of Canadian Bankers, holds the ICB Professional Bankers designation and is an Accredited Mortgage Professional through Mortgage Professionals Canada.
