As CEO, Mario Rehayem is responsible for the strategic direction, and oversight of all organic growth initiatives in Pepper Money’s Australian and New Zealand residential mortgage, commercial lending, asset finance and unsecured personal lending business. He was appointed to this role in September 2017. Rehayem has extensive experience across all aspects of banking and finance, having held senior positions in an ADI environment as well as in the non bank sector. Prior to being appointed CEO Australia, Rehayem has held various roles at Pepper including managing director, Australian mortgages and personal loans, and director of sales and distribution between 2011 and 2016, where he led teams responsible for the strong growth in Pepper’s retail home loan products. He has also gained relevant experience as state manager, mortgage broker distribution – WA and SA for Westpac and state manager for Pepper NSW. With over 15 years of experience in financial services, Rehayem is a known champion of mortgage broker education and espousing the importance of the near prime and specialist category. He is an INSEAD alumnus, having completed the advanced management program, and the Harvard executive education program (finance).
