Kathy Cummings commenced as general manager, broker at Bank of Queensland (BOQ) in January 2020, as the bank refocuses its efforts on rebuilding and reinvigorating BOQ’s broking division. Cummings brings more than 20 years’ experience in the mortgage broking industry to the newly created role. Prior to BOQ, she was with Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), where she established the bank’s mortgage broking business. Last year, Cummings was awarded a Lifetime membership of the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA), in acknowledgement of her time and service in the industry. In an interview with MPA, Cummings said that while some aspects of the mortgage industry will continue to evolve, it’s a question of ensuring it can keep satisfying clients with the quality of its customer service.” She added that it’s vital to embrace change, make a decision, and go with it, and that “the importance of relationships is never-ending.”
