As chief sales officer at Finance of America Reverse [FAR], Sherry Apanay is responsible for all of the company’s reverse mortgage sales channels. With experience in retail as well as wholesale, she has worked within the reverse mortgage industry for the past 24 years. Apanay began her reverse mortgage career at Unity Mortgage Corp., where she established the wholesale division, moving on to the wholesale and retail divisions of Generation Mortgage before being recruited by Urban Financial Group(which later became part of FAR). Apanay has been a member of the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association since its inception; she currently serves on the NRMLA board of directors and participated in developing the Certified Reverse Mortgage Professional designation, in addition to serving on the Independent Certification Committee and on the board of the National Aging in Place Council.
