As one of the architects of Mid America Mortgage’s transition to e-closings and e-notes in its retail, wholesale and correspondent channels, Kara Lamphere’s vast knowledge of the digital mortgage landscape has been integral to the development and successful launch of Click n’ Close, Mid America’s lending platform that allows borrowers to complete the mortgage process entirely online. She also played a critical role in Mid America’s December 2017 acquisition of American Southwest Mortgage, as well as its recently announced partnership with Spectrum Mortgage Holdings to provide warehouse financing for seasoned and ‘scratch-and-dent’ loans through the firm’s whole loan trading program.
During her 20-plus-year career, Lamphere has held a variety of executive compliance and correspondent lending positions and has overseen a mortgage subsidiary generating more than $1 billion monthly in mortgage loans. Her enduring passion for team-building, mentoring and communication has enabled her to train numerous successors. She is also active within the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association and serves on the Community Mortgage Lenders of America’s working group committee.
