Karen Kreutziger has been recognized as one of the leading women in the US mortgage industry by being listed in the 2018 edition of Mortgage Professional America's Elite Women
Chief operations officer
Flat Branch Home Loans
Karen Kreutziger joined Flat Branch Home Loans in 2011 after working at another mortgage company in college. She started out as an underwriter, but very quickly demonstrated a drive that allowed her to successfully master every piece of the mortgage business. From selling direct to agencies like Freddie and Fannie to creating programs for new products such as the HUD 184 and portfolio loans, Kreutziger has taken the lead to improving Flat Branch Home Loans’ competitive edge while maintaining the best client experience. Under her management, the company has grown from 30 people in three locations to a more than 300 people across 15 states and 40 locations, and is looking to originate more than $1 billion in loans this year.
In her efforts to stay ahead of the curve, Kreutziger has visited India with other mortgage professionals to study how mortgage companies are thinking outside the box to improve efficiencies, and has collaborated with a programmer to customize processes and enable teams to automate time-consuming and repetitive tasks. To ensure continuous learning for both the business and herself, Kreutziger also spearheaded an initiative in 2017 to take all managers to the Disney Institute for employee engagement training. In addition, she is currently studying for her insurance license and is working on adding an insurance division to Flat Branch Home Loans.
