Last year, Stearns helped shepherd the company through its acquisition by Blackstone. He has been named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and in 2011, he became the youngest member ever inducted into the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans. In addition to Stearns Lending, Stearns has founded and run other mortgage-related businesses, including a title company, an appraisal management company and a due diligence company.
