With more than 40 years of experience in financial services and corporate management, Donald Layton heads one of the largest sources of mortgage financing in the US, and a leader in building a more efficient and effective housing finance system.
After nearly 30 years at JPMorgan Chase, where he started as a trainee and eventually became a member of the three-person Office of the Chairman, Layton went on to serve as chairman and CEO of E*TRADE Financial from 2007 to 2009, shepherding the firm through the financial crisis.
In addition, Layton served as a senior advisor to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association from 2006 to 2008 and serves as chairman emeritus of the board of the Partnership for the Homeless, a nonprofit dedicated to reducing homelessness in New York City, after having been its chair for nearly a decade.
