A former collegiate basketball player, Fernando Ayala began his mortgage lending career in 2009 with the goal of becoming one of the nation’s top originators – a goal he has reached and maintained for the past four years. Today, Ayala brings his team mentality to the mortgage business by applying it to his own mortgage team, where he relishes “the ability to change people’s lives, from my employees to our borrowers.”
Ayala and his team are among Academy Mortgage’s top performers, and Ayala is a member of the company’s President’s Club. In his spare time, he sponsors youth organizations and the basketball program and extracurricular activities for the Amphitheater School District in his hometown of Tucson. In addition, he is currently designing an internship program at Academy to train future loan officers.
