A new survey has revealed the most and least desirable celebrity neighbors
So if you had to live next door to a celebrity, who would you want it to be? Brad Pitt? Gwyneth Paltrow? Kermit?
Well, there seems to be general agreement on which celebrities Americans would least like living next door. According to a survey by Zillow, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were named the least desirable neighbors of 2013, narrowly edging out the cast of reality show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo”.
Meanwhile, late night host Jimmy Fallon was named the most desirable celebrity neighbor for the coming year, earning high marks among women and young adults. Fallon knocked last year’s winners, country singers Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, into second place.
“It's been a landmark year for Jimmy Fallon. He had his first baby, headlined a successful comedy tour and was named Jay Leno's successor to ‘The Tonight Show’,” said Amy Bohutinsky, Zillow chief marketing officer. “He carries a positive, funny and relatable vibe, which people would love to have in a neighbor. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, on the other hand, have a reputation for living an over-the-top lifestyle, with drama and the paparazzi never too far behind. No one wants to live next door to a family who has cameras following them everywhere and seems to seek out as much attention as possible.”
Other stars making the “good neighbor” list included actors Jennifer Lawrence and Sophia Vergara and basketball player LeBron James. Rated as bad neighbors were singers Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus, as well as baseball star and alleged doping enthusiast Alex Rodriguez. Surprisingly, Gilbert Gottfried did not make either list.
A significant portion of those surveyed said they wouldn’t even want a good-natured jokester like Fallon living next door. Thirty-four percent of survey respondents said they wouldn’t want to be neighbors with any celebrity.
“…With more than one-third of surveyed Americans preferring a non-celebrity neighbor, what remains clear is that many people don't want to live next to any celebrity, regardless of why they are famous,” Bohutinsky said.
